As a photographer, I work with what the couple wants. For those who are not superstitious, having their photos taken before the wedding gives the couple a bit of private time before the hustle and bustle of the wedding. It allows them to see each other and have some time alone. Usually once the wedding actually starts, things get so busy, the bride and groom do not get time for themselves. For those couples that wait till after the ceremony, most times they face time constraints due to the timing of the reception, and the standard shots (family, bridal party, etc). It all depends on what is comfortable for the bride and groom.
