Default no father of the bride

i need some advice. my dad and both grandpas passed away 3 and 4 years ago. i'm 22 years old, getting married this summer. i'm disappointed (to say the least) to not have a father-daughter dance at my reception because i've always dreamed of it. i would like to have some special dance for fathers and daughters where they can all join in while i dance with my brothers or fiance's dad, maybe. what do you think of this idea? is it too much, too particular, too orchestrated, etc? do you have any other/better/creative ideas? i really need some brutally honest opinions. i feel too weird about it to even ask any of my engaged friends. i don't know anyone else who's had a wedding without a father. help me please!?!

hello C's bride. Thanks so much for posting on the forum.

I have DJed for 15 years and that is a wonderful idea. I think making it more of a tribute to your father and have other fathers and daughters dance would be an amazing idea. With that or any idea you are doing, you should make sure to stress how important it is to your DJ or entertianment so they know to keep it very special.

Also dancing with your new father in law would be a good idea. No one can ever replace your father so as long as it is framed that it is in his honor it would be very respectful and appreciated by the rest of your family.

That is my opinion. It is not too much or to particular or orchestrated. If you get an entertainer who you trust can do it then you will be set.

I hope this information helps. I hope more people stop by and post for you to give you more ideas.

Have a great day.

DJ Bill

Well, if you have Uncle a brother to your father i guess i fine to ask him to be your father and dance with you in your wedding celebration.
