nooo. you can not wear a black dress to a wedding. you wear black to funerals. no matter how cute it is you cannot wear black to weddings!!

It depends on the material of the dress. Is it a solid material, does it have another material under. Maybe an appropriate red bow around the waist (elegant). Definitely you need to wear accessories.
Is the black dress for the night reception? then its workable.
I don't think black is appropriate for daytime, especially its a wedding.
