I can't even count how many weddings I've been in and we've always had gorgeous bridesmaid dresses. Guess I've got great friends with great taste.

However, my best friend was just in a wedding and the dresses were hideous. They looked fantastic on the hanger, but once you put them on four different girls with different body types, they looked bad on all of them. I guess maybe the bride gets an idea in her mind (falls in love with a pic, etc.) and just sticks with it no matter what it looks like.

I didn't like the idea of my bridesmaids wearing something hideous! My colors were light yellow and light blue, I just told them to get a shade of yellow dress - and everything else was up to them! One of my bridesmaids actually had a pale yellow dress already, so she didn't have to spend any money on one. And I went to a 'closeout' sale - where they were giving away overstock dresses, and I found another light yellow dress (for free!) and got it for my other bridesmaid. It looked great on her, but she just ended up finding a different one that she wore instead. I really didn't care. My MOH found a stunning yellow dress for only 40 bucks.
Everyone looked comfortable and happy in all of the pictures, and of course, beautiful! :)

I guess not the ugliest dress for the bridesmaids. If i am going to get married I will choice the simplest dress but beautiful for my bridesmaids, because it is me who need to shine on that occasion not them.

I had two of my daughters get married last year. The churches they married in don't allow candles anyway because they are a potential fire hazard.
