Default Need some fashion help with a shoe choice for a wedding?

Ok, so I am in a wedding at the end of October. The bride told us all( the bridesmaids) to pick out a funky color for the shoes that goes with the color of the dress, navy(gag). She wants all of us to look different and I have first crack at picking the my shoe color since I got last crack at the dress choices. We are all in the same style, but different cuts.

Here is the dress: http://www.jcrew.com/AST/Browse/WeddingParties/womens/w_bridesmaids/PRDOVR~93489/93489.jsp

I'm thinking maybe pink or a bright green, but I readily admit that I am fashionably challenged so I could use all the help i could get! Either just by listing what colors would work with navy(no plain navy or plain white though) or by posting links to some shoe sites.

thanks!!
LOL, not my wedding yet! I think it will be a couple years for us yet. =)
ooh, i didn't even think of yellow. I AM greek, and I am pretty dang tan from the summer. Hmm.. thats one to consider too!
Sassy, those are CUTE!!! I'm almost tempted to do the red, but is that too "presidential"? It could look really classy I think if I do it right.

You guys are all so great for helping me!! I'm such a fashion failure, LOL. Jon says he is sending me on the makeover show.

Honestly, I thought of pink before I read down to where you mentioned it! :) Where?? Dunno... Most wedding/bridesmaid sites will let you dye it whatever color you want. The yellow ones that are on the model may look good!

Darn it though, I was hoping it was YOUR wedding!

ADD-- OOHHH I like the ones BB picked!!! Those I would keep! :) I was thinking like a plain pink high heeled shoe, just for the wedding since you don't sound like you want to wear the dress again either!

Okay, here's what I had in mind at first... http://www.faith.co.uk/images/default/en/catalogue/medium/411718.jpg
But look at these shoes! Haha! http://farm1.static.flickr.com/173/409285883_bc68487c42.jpg

But, imagine any of these in pink, dyed to your choice of shade. http://www.bridalgownsofdroitwich.co.uk/bridal_gowns_droitwich_images/shoes/pink.jpg

LOL L&L, I was looking at those shoes and almost posted them too!

No, I don't think the shoes Sassy had are *too* red, they won't look "presidential." they have enough pink in them to look good!

I like the idea of a bright pink or fuschia color!

This color:

I'm stuck on fushcia :) I don't like either of these shoes for a wedding, but love the color and think it would look fab with the navy blue :)

Edit: Sassy...those Nina shoes are cute! Those would be great for a wedding :)

Well, you're Greek, and likely pretty damn tan... and yellow (preferably pale yellow) looks great with a tan! I don't know how easy it would be to find a cute pair of yellow shoes, but I am sure they are somewhere on the internet!

Add: OK- yellow shoes NOT that easy to find! Here are a pair of bright yellow ones for $3.99!

Still looking!

http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/38531368/c/143617.html - A bright pink funky heel. I actually love the idea of wearing these with a black top and dressy jeans or something...this also comes in yellow.

http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/39101752/c/370.html - Another bright pink, dressier heel.

http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/31688371/c/5360.html - A red, more Fall-looking shoe (not in color, just in style)

http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/41007976/c/143015.html - This one comes in a few fun colors...

Just a few thoughts...basically, I love Zappos and I'm sure you could find a color and style you would love if you wanted. Ahhh, if I had a million dollars...how much would I spend on shoes? :-) And can I just say, for a plain Jane dress, that is a LOT of money. Sure, you can wear it again, as it is simple and cute, but seriously. I hope, when I get married, that I don't pick a dress so expensive that I dread telling the bridesmaids which one they have to buy. Unless of course she's purchasing them for you.

Have fun!! :-) And thanks for letting us girls flex our online shopping muscles and drool over cute and funky shoes!

EDIT: *Bows to the adoring crowd and snickers at BB* ;-) Zappos is WAY dangerous!! And I think the red have too "stiletto" a heel and are too bright to be considered "presidential", so I wouldn't worry about it! Glad I could help (and sorry to BB for posting shoes too cute to pass up! If I had the $$$, you'd better believe they would be in the mail tomorrow...maybe on Tuesday when I get paid...)!! Would like to point out that if the rest of the stuff in the site Amanda posted is that cheap, I may have found my new loooooove...

I do think yellow would look good, especially if you have a darker skin tone, but October is a fall month and bright yellow might be a little out of season. I think fushia is good, lime green would be awesome, red would work if the style was right - you don't want to look like you're wearing a sailor costume or something.

I vote for something like the ones Amanda posted.
I like the yellow and navy combo and I think something kinda strappy could still fly in October.
