What is the weirdest but most appreciative thing you have seen at a wedding?
Alright, I love weddings! I think they're amazing! I'm not getting married yet, my man and I still have a few years for that while we finish up college, but I want to know:
What is the one thing you've seen at a wedding that you found absolutely weird but absolutely delightful?

Well at this one wedding, they had little jars of homemade apple butter as the favor for each guest.
It was a little strange, but really sweet!

I wasn't at this wedding, but a friends friend had goldfish in bowls for centre pieces, then gave them for people to take home as wedding favours.

All the weddings I've been to have been pretty standard and cookie-cutter. I'm getting married this year and it's important to me to make our wedding stand out and be memorable, so we're doing a few "weird" things:
We're having the officiant stand with her back to the guests so that we can face our family and friends during the ceremony. I hate staring at the back of the bride's and groom's heads for 20 minutes.
We're doing a fun, choreographed first dance to surprise our wedding guests and get the party started. It'll be great for photo opportunities and will make our guests want to dance, too.
We have very specific musical tastes, and are incorporating some of our favorite songs into the ceremony and reception. We'll be playing Metallica, Pink Floyd, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, etc.
My brother will be walking me down the aisle while my step-dad plays a Pink Floyd song on the guitar, and my brother will also be standing with me as my Man of Honor.
Instead of a bouquet-toss, I'll throw a handful of wrapped fortune cookies to the ladies.
We're going to have a candy buffet in leiu of wedding favors that people would most likely throw away anyway. We'll have jars of candy to match our wedding colors (lime green, black and silver) and little scoops and bags so they can take as much or as little as they want.
These are just a few examples, hopefully this is what you're looking for!

My fiance and I loooove to travel, and have been all over the world (from living in Spain, to touring Europe, to seeing S. Korea), so we are really trying to incorporate our love of those countries, and their food. We are having a custom menu for a large Spanish tapas display and a sushi roller to roll sushi for our guests to order. For the US, we are having tomato soup shooters with grilled cheese wedges passed around (plus some other passed items). We are serving some international salads and sides with the entrees as well. In addition to the wedding cake, we are having a crepe flambe station where a station attendant will fire up some fruit fillings and the guests can custom make their own crepes (for Paris), then hit the attended coffee and espresso bar for some traditional UK and Spanish coffee drinks (including cordials and lattes). For the bar, we are adding a signature drink that is made with Grey Goose Vodka, Chambord, and sake (asia). We are also serving a grooms cake in the shape of two stacked suitcases that will have a tag with our honeymoon destination on it, plus "stickers" all over the suitcases with the names of cities we've been to.
The tables will also be labeled with the names of cities instead of table numbers (people are being escorted by the maitre de, so people won't get lost or confused about table locations).

The bride's 7 year old cousin and her friend did a choreographed dance for the bride and groom. It was to a Michael Jackson number. They were really good. LOL..

During the ceremony, the bride's father led everybody in What a Wonderful World.
At another wedding reception, a groom played the guitar and sang he wrote, "When you are Married to a Woman Physically Bigger than You"
Last summer, the bride (over age 50) did a dance with her dad - who was in a wheelchair. He just stayed still, she danced and lip synched the words from an appropriate song (from Fiddler on the Roof) - she had choreographed the dance to fit the music.
