I found my senior photographer through my moms work it is a hobby that she enjoys doing and she is amazing at it, and I am planning on using her for my wedding another place you can look is Craigslist you can find people that will do it for cheaper then anywhere else unless you can find a friend, for example I found a Dj for 75 dollars and he did an amazing job at to where others cost at least $500

If there is a college around you, there could be good photographers on the yearbook or newspaper staff. Or in the journalism department.

Ask the local high school journalism teacher for recommendations as well.

I would love to help, but I don't know what area you are in. It would be easier to find a lower priced photographer if it didn't involve travel.

Go to a local technical college and ask if their art students are available.

I don't know where you are but most community colleges offer photography classes - you can speak with those professors and see if any of the students are able (as in capable - enough skill) to do it. As a starving student I'd welcome a chance to earn some money for an afternoon's work.
