lol... you are a genius. Guess people won't take it seriously. If I receive an invitation like that, I'd only think "what a naughty girl!"

True it is really offending, if you received invitation that is asking cash for a gift. If I am the one who received such invitation I am not going to the wedding itself. For me you invite the person to witness a one in a lifetime event in your life and share your happeness, with or without gift.

I think it should not bother you... wedding is done to declare that you want to get committed to another person for the whole of your life and not to just accept any gifts from someone attending the marriage. and gifts are given as a token of congratulations, you shouldn't be worried what ever the card says, you do what you feel is right. Yeah to some, asking for money might seem a little tacky. However, if you're like most young married couples out there, getting cash is much better than getting a new blender.
