Default Wedding cake suggestion. Can I get away with ysing silk rose petals? Take a look @ the photo.?

I am loving this cake and would like to surround the entire cake table w/red rose petals. Of course, it would be quite expensive to cover with real roses. So can I get away w/using silk rose petals instead?

I think the silk flower petals will look just as beautiful as if they were real. If you want you could spray the fake petals with some kind of a shimmer spray so they catch the light and look dewy and not flat. Test out some looks and let them air out so you don't smell paint as you're cutting your beautiful cake!!

Just beware of the red dye from the pedals, if they get moist might seep into the white icing.

Also whatever you spray them with- as the above poster said- that will be in direct contact with food.

Otherwise looks lovely :)

In my opinion, I don't feel that anything compares to natural flowers. I personally don't like faux or "silk" flowers. I tend to feel that they look cheap. Just my opinion.

I love that cake! See if the bakery can make a sample cake or give you some ideas! I think the pinks silk ones will like just as lovely! Good luck and have fun on your big day!
