Default HELP, I am Officiating my first wedding, ?

I am totally lost in what to do, I am a Christian , so I want to do a Christlike wedding and the couple desires that to, I need some referances please. Its going to be a small 25 person wedding so nothing real fancy, the people want it short and sweet. Thanks

Have you talked to the bride and groom about what they want to include?

Our officiate used an outline I picked out online and edited to fit what we wanted to say, the order of the ceremony, etc. He had a thin black book that he taped the outline into so he could read from it as we went and not miss anything.

Hope that helps!

It would appear that you got licensed without being trained.

So you need to get up to speed fast!

READ - learn the typical parts of a marriage ceremony, what makes the ceremony flow, and consult with the couple as to their vision for their ceremony.

DO NOT just copy someone else's ceremony, or cobble a ceremony together from bits taken from more than one ceremony written by someone else. Unless the person who wrote the original has been dead for more than 70 years you will not only be breaking the law, you will be indulging in unethical behaviour, which is not consistent with being a Christian.

So, the short answer is, Learn what a ceremony contains and how it should flow, consult with the couple, and then write your own ceremony.
