The one with the most money :) Honestley, no idea, My mom bought her own dress when she was a bridesmaid, but it wasn't exactly an orthodox wedding either

for the most part it is the father of the bride, but usually considerations are made between both parties and the share of the costs are mutual

The bridesmaid's traditionally pay for their own dresses, which is why so many sitcoms have the bridesmaids hating their expensive and ridiculous dresses that they can never wear again and paid for, however nowadays some people are paying for the dresses if they can afford it, but even if they can it is not expected. Everything else, depends on who has the money, often the couple, often the parents will at least help, and in old movies the bride's parents.

all i know is traditionally the grooms family pays for the reception and the brides for the wedding but its the 21st century and i think the bride and groom should pay for their own wedding
