Take photos of the dress. Sell it. I know plenty of women who saved their dresses for the daughters to wear and nobody would be seen dead in some of those styles. My one former coworker's mom was a drop dead knockout in the 1940s movie star like dress she wore in the 50s. Her daughter, who was already thin, had to starve herself to fit into it and it looked terrible on her non-curving figure. Let someone else who doesn't have a lot of money, enjoy and BE MARRIED in your dress. Far better, in my opinion, then just letting it waste in the closet.

Be aware that 2 years later, your dress would more likely sell at 25% of what you paid. To get 50%, you'd have to sell it the same season or just after.
