What my husband and i did was he bought the engagement ring and then while we were planning the wedding i gave him the responsibility of paying for the wedding rings and I paid for something else like the photographer. Its up to you I would if anything have only one person pay or at least if you two wanna pay for your own for him and his for you then at least go to the same place to get them usually they give deals and at least you two can have them match if you want. but basically usually the person who purposes buys the engagement ring and then its up to the couple who or if both want to buy the wedding rings.
