Typically there are two different rings for women. The first is the engagement ring that is given by the man to the woman when he asks her to marry him. This is the diamond one.
Then at the wedding the bride and groom exchange wedding rings (some sort of band) the bride pays for the grooms and visa versa. Often they match each other.
