My fiance and I loooove to travel, and have been all over the world (from living in Spain, to touring Europe, to seeing S. Korea), so we are really trying to incorporate our love of those countries, and their food. We are having a custom menu for a large Spanish tapas display and a sushi roller to roll sushi for our guests to order. For the US, we are having tomato soup shooters with grilled cheese wedges passed around (plus some other passed items). We are serving some international salads and sides with the entrees as well. In addition to the wedding cake, we are having a crepe flambe station where a station attendant will fire up some fruit fillings and the guests can custom make their own crepes (for Paris), then hit the attended coffee and espresso bar for some traditional UK and Spanish coffee drinks (including cordials and lattes). For the bar, we are adding a signature drink that is made with Grey Goose Vodka, Chambord, and sake (asia). We are also serving a grooms cake in the shape of two stacked suitcases that will have a tag with our honeymoon destination on it, plus "stickers" all over the suitcases with the names of cities we've been to.
The tables will also be labeled with the names of cities instead of table numbers (people are being escorted by the maitre de, so people won't get lost or confused about table locations).
